Terms &
conditions
These terms explain how product listings, orders, payment, delivery and returns work when you use the Stanyers Outboard Service website.
1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to your use of this website and to enquiries and orders with Stanyers Outboard Service (“we”, “us”, “our”), based in Duncan, BC, Canada. If you place an order, these Terms apply together with your order confirmation and the policies linked below, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
2. Product listings and availability
Descriptions, photographs, specifications, stock status and prices help you evaluate a listing. They may be supplied by manufacturers or suppliers and may not show every variation. Listings and stock can change, and a motor shown online is not reserved until we confirm the order. We may correct a typographical, data, image or pricing error before accepting an order. If we find a material error after you order, we will contact you with the available options before proceeding.
3. Prices and taxes
All prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). No sales tax is added at checkout. Shipping is a flat $25.00 per order, free on orders over $2,000.00. The order summary shows the full amount due before you pay. See Shipping & delivery.
4. Orders and acceptance
An enquiry, cart submission or payment authorization is not by itself acceptance of an order. We may need to verify availability, address or payment details. An order is accepted when we confirm it in writing or through the checkout process. After acceptance you can use Order tracking with your order number and billing email. If you need to change an order, contact us promptly. Changes take effect only when we confirm them.
5. Payment
Online payment methods are those shown at checkout. Unless a written quote or invoice says otherwise, payment in full is due before an order is released for dispatch. Do not send card numbers, security codes or bank passwords by email, text message or phone. See Payment terms.
6. Delivery
We deliver within Canada only. Delivery and transit times are estimates unless a written order term expressly confirms otherwise, and can change because of carrier availability, weather or road restrictions. You are responsible for giving accurate delivery and contact information. Inspect the crate on arrival when safe, note visible damage on the delivery paperwork and report problems promptly. Pickup is available only by prior written arrangement.
7. Returns, cancellations and refunds
Returns and cancellations are governed by our Refund & returns policy. Eligible return requests must be submitted within 30 days after delivery. Approved change-of-mind returns carry a 15% restocking fee and the customer pays return transport. The restocking fee does not apply to approved defective or misdescribed-product returns. Contact us for written authorization before sending any motor back. Approved refunds are submitted within 10 business days as described in that policy.
8. Product-specific warranties
Warranty coverage, if any, depends on the product and the written warranty supplied for it. Review the listing and order documents, or ask us to confirm the provider, term and conditions in writing before ordering. Our Warranty information page explains how to request support and does not create a blanket warranty. Nothing here excludes a warranty or remedy that the law does not allow us to exclude.
9. Safe use and your responsibilities
You are responsible for checking that a motor suits your boat, transom, shaft length, control system and intended use; for installing and operating it safely and according to the manufacturer's instructions; and for following applicable boating regulations. Ask us before ordering if you are unsure about compatibility.
10. Acceptable use of this website
Use this website only for lawful purposes. Do not interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce malicious code, submit false orders or misuse another person's information. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our customers or our business, subject to applicable law.
11. Website content
Unless a listing identifies another owner, the website's branding, layout, original text and graphics belong to Stanyers Outboard Service or are used with permission. Product names, photographs and marks belonging to manufacturers remain their property. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial reference only.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information under Canada's PIPEDA and anti-spam law (CASL). Do not include payment credentials or other highly sensitive information in a general enquiry.
13. Liability and non-waivable rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility, consumer rights, warranties or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including those under applicable provincial consumer protection law. The website is provided without a promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without displacing mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live. If you have a concern about an order, contact us first so we can try to resolve it.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms when our website, products or practices change. The “Last updated” date above identifies the current version. Changes apply from publication and do not alter an accepted order unless you and we agree or the law requires it.
