Stanyers Outboard Service handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). This notice explains what we collect, why and what choices you have.
Who we are

Information we receive
- Enquiries: if you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, optional phone number, topic and message, and use them to reply.
- Orders and order lookups: WooCommerce processes order details such as items, order number, billing and delivery contact details, addresses, payment status and order emails. Order tracking uses your order number and billing email.
- Payments: payments are processed by the payment provider shown at checkout. We receive the payment status and transaction references needed to manage the order. We do not store full card numbers.
- Technical information: our hosting and security services may process information such as IP address, browser details, request times and pages requested to run and protect the site. WooCommerce uses cookies or similar storage for the cart, session and checkout.
Why we use it
To answer enquiries, confirm product details and availability, accept and fulfil orders, arrange delivery, handle returns or warranty requests, send order updates, keep the site secure, keep transaction records and meet legal and accounting obligations.
Consent and marketing emails (CASL)
We use your contact details for order service and replies to your enquiries. We send marketing email only with your consent, every marketing message identifies us and includes a working unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
When information is shared
We share information when needed to provide what you asked for: with the payment provider that processes your payment, with carriers to deliver your order, with suppliers or manufacturers when confirming stock or handling a warranty or return, and with hosting, email and security providers that help run the site. These providers may process information in Canada or in other countries under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect the site or customers, or to address fraud or a dispute.
Cookies and checkout
WooCommerce uses functional cookies or similar storage to support the cart, session and checkout, and may record how an order originated. You can manage cookies in your browser; blocking them may stop parts of the cart or checkout working.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries for as long as needed to respond and follow up. We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to complete and support the transaction, handle returns, warranties or disputes, keep accounting records and meet legal obligations. Some records must be kept even after a deletion request.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or withdraw consent where the law allows. Email info@stanyersoutboard.ca and we will respond as required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Security
This site uses HTTPS. Do not send card numbers, security codes or bank passwords through the contact form, email or text message. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We may update this notice when our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
