Return details

Return window

Submit a return request within 30 days after delivery. The request must identify the order and the reason for the return. Contact us first. Do not send a motor back or book a carrier without written return authorization and instructions.

How to request

Email info@stanyersoutboard.ca with your order number, delivery date, product name or SKU, a description of the issue and clear photographs. We will review the order and reply with eligibility and next steps.

Defective or misdescribed goods

If a motor is defective, damaged before delivery or materially not as described, contact us promptly with evidence. We will arrange an appropriate remedy under the order terms and applicable law. For an approved return in this category we cover reasonable return freight and do not charge the change-of-mind restocking fee.

Change-of-mind returns

Eligible non-defective returns requested within the return window may be accepted when the motor is in the condition stated in the written authorization, normally unused (never run or mounted) with all parts, documents and original packaging. A 15% restocking fee applies to approved change-of-mind returns. Return freight and related costs are the customer's responsibility.

Cancellation before dispatch

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. If the order has not been dispatched or handed to a carrier, no restocking fee applies and the eligible amount is refunded to the original payment method. If charges have already been incurred, we will explain them before any refund is processed.

Return method

For approved change-of-mind returns, the motor is returned by an agreed freight carrier at the customer's cost. For approved defective or misdescribed items we coordinate the return and cover reasonable freight. Do not arrange transport independently. An unauthorized or unsafe return may be refused.

Exchanges

We do not offer direct exchanges. We process an approved refund and you may place a new order for a different motor.

Refund timing

Approved refunds are submitted within 10 business days after approval or, when a return is required, after the motor is received and inspected. The refund goes to the original payment method in Canadian dollars. Your bank or card provider may take additional time to post it.

Return eligibility

Motors must be returned in the condition required by the return authorization, with agreed accessories and documentation. Tell us before returning if the motor has been installed, run, modified or damaged after delivery. Unauthorized, altered or unsafe returns may be refused.

Inspection and decision

When a return arrives we inspect it against the written authorization and the reported issue. We will explain the decision, any restocking or freight cost that applies, and the refund amount before processing an approved refund.

What happens after you contact us?

We confirm that the request matches an order, review the reason for return and the condition of the motor, and send written instructions. If return transport is needed, the instructions say how to prepare the crate and who pays for transport.

We never ask customers to send payment details by email to get a refund. Refunds go back through the original payment method whenever the payment provider allows it.
